BONUS: Poems about Moving On

A Healing Poem about Moving On

by Jen from

Just holding tight,
Clinging to what I know.
My life has passed me by,
Masked by a night–
But it’s so hard to let go.

How can I trust myself?
I thought the chaos was really me,
And I know no other way.
Now these thoughts burn my soul.
I don’t think they’re me anymore.
I don’t want to be this person,
And I don’t want to suffer the fate
Of what I thought was meant to be.
I sense a river a joy,
And I sense it’s in me.

Ready for this road to end–
Where it began I forget.
Where it turns I’ve been that way,
But not in this way, not yet.
I’m forgiving my yesterday,
I’m letting the past stay there.
New doors are opening for me,
And now I’m going somewhere.
The light has shone upon me today,
And a familiar voice whispers, saying
Somewhere inside I need to change.
My thoughts will change my way.

These tears fall
From a place I miss,
But this place I remember now.
I remember I can go there,
And I remember how.
Through love,
My heart whispers,
Is how you go back home.
Suffering you can kiss
For in it you do not belong.

If I look far out across that place,
Through the barren lands
Of my past,
Happiness left a single trace.
Somehow it lingered and it lasts,
And it carves for me now
A new past.
This is the path I’m taking,
And on it I’m making love
My foundation.

I see now with eyes so clear
That all I love I can still hold dear.
Any departure from love is just fear,
And nothing else exists.
In this truth I now live.

Lost Love

by Silke Wettergren from

The most amazing moment was when we met
The love and time I have shared with you
have all been without regret…

In spite of our love…
I am painfully aware
That you are gone,
And no longer there.

You made up your mind and you went away…
as things started to not feel right…
I know it’s pointless to wish for you to stay…
because at the end of the tunnel there is no more light

Often I don’t know what to say or do.
So many times I have cried over you…
Emptiness and sorrow is now a part of me,
Since I have to accept that we will never be.

Our memories continue to live in my heart
As I wish you well with your brand-new start

Please, believe me when I say
You will always be with me
Come what may

Moving On

by curtisjohnsonsr from

Have you ever had a longing inside to reach back and touch people and places of your past? I have.

Have you ever started a quest that became one of the most beautiful projects of your life? I have.

I called it my connectivity quest, and there have been some rich experiences.
I once reached a place so nostalgic, so beautiful, and so captivating, that it was difficult to depart.
I got comfortable, felt safe and secure, soothing and warm, and felt the loving embrace of peace and freedom.

Although from the start I knew that I could not stay, still, I felt no need or desire to rush.
Although It was a sweet place of rest, reflection, and renewal, in my heart I knew that it was not my place of destiny.

For a season, my heart was stuck in neutral, my soul wanted to park, and every part of this place had my name on it.

And so, from my camp of tranquillity, from my haven of rest, from my playground of ‘remember when’s’, I arose and moved on.

Though reluctantly, I too, like cowboys of yesteryears, heard the sound of someone yelling out to me, “Head ‘Em Up! Move ‘Em Out! Rawhide!”
